Designer Doors, Inc. warrants the sections of E-Frame overhead garage doors it manufactures against rot-through due to normal weather damage for five (5) years provided the door is: 1) built using Designer Doors, Inc.’s standard construction materials of Douglas Fir, Cedar, All Heart Redwood, Cypress, Mahogany (African and Genuine), Spanish Cedar, Teak and Ipe; 2) handled and finished according to Designer Doors, Inc.’s “Care, Handling, Finishing and Pre-Installation Guide” which include, but not limited to, the door being finished on all surfaces, including edges, with Sikkens™ CETOL or primed with top quality acrylic latex or alkyd primer prior to exposure to the weather and within ten (10) days of delivery, the doors are painted with two (2) coats of either Sikkens™ CETOL 23 or three (3) coats of CETOL DOOR & WINDOW or two (2) coats of top quality acrylic latex exterior paint or high quality alkyd exterior paint; and 3) any exposed beaded or v-groove openings that could pocket water are sealed with a high-quality, polyurethane caulk or similar quality caulking material after the finish is applied. Silicone caulk is not recommended. We do not warrant any door that uses specialty woods or non-standard materials. unless written acceptance by Designer Doors, Inc. is obtained prior to the installation for the warranty to be placed into effect. Expiration of the E-Frame overhead garage door warranty, installed in a residential setting (including single-family and facilities owned in common by condominium associations or similar organizations) is five (5) years from date of delivery to the original purchaser. This warranty is not applicable to E-Frame overhead garage doors installed in commercial, industrial or any other non-residential setting and does not apply to the actual installation of any E-Frame overhead garage door.

If, within the terms of the warranty, any of the garage door sections are determined to be defective, as verified upon inspection by persons authorized by Designer Doors, Inc., we will replace or otherwise restore (at our option) any such defective garage door section(s). We will pay for required labor and materials costs associated with any repair work described above, however any shipping or labor costs associated with the removal, delivery, finishing and reinstallation of any repaired sections and the installation of replacement sections will be your responsibility. Repairs to door(s) do not extend warranty.

The sole remedy available pursuant to this limited warranty shall be the repair, replacement or restoration of the defective section or sections of the E-Frame overhead garage door. To the fullest extent permitted under the law, Designer Doors, Inc. expressly excludes any liability for direct, indirect, special, punitive, incidental or consequential damages, whether arising under theory of contract, tort (including negligence), and strict liability or otherwise.

Our warranty shall not extend to or cover rotting-through resulting from damage to the garage door section caused by fire, other accident or casualty, vandalism, radiation, harmful fumes, or foreign substances in the atmosphere; or occurring as a result of any physical damage or the failure of paint applied after the garage door left our factory, or failure to provide reasonable, necessary and proper maintenance (including re-finishing the surface as needed, which shall be no less than every third (3) year and at least every one (1) to two (2) years on south and/or west facing doors). This warranty shall not extend to or cover any damages or claims with respect to any products that in any way or degree have been altered, processed, misused or improperly handled or installed. This warranty does not cover normal wood behaviors due to contraction and expansion of wood, such as checking, cracking, lifting wood grain, and leaking sap pockets. These minor occurrences do not harm the stability or durability of the door, and are natural reactions of wood to changes in humidity levels.

Designer Doors, Inc. warrants standard hardware, excluding automatic operators, supplied with doors for a one-year period, providing the door is properly installed according to manufacturer’s recommendations. All automatic operators are covered under their original manufacturers’ warranty. For purposes of this limited warranty, “standard hardware” shall mean all hardware supplied, furnished or otherwise expressly authorized by Designer Doors, Inc. with respect to any E-Frame overhead garage door.

In the event a E-Frame overhead garage door does not conform to any provision of this limited warranty, please send to Designer Doors, Inc.’s Corporate Headquarters written notice setting forth your name, address, telephone number, the date of delivery of the garage door, and a description of the defective section or condition of the garage door to: Designer Doors, Inc., Attention: Warranty Manager, at 702 Troy Street, River Falls, Wisconsin 54022 (or the Company’s most current address). Designer Doors, Inc. shall respond to any such notice in writing or by telephone within a commercially reasonable period of time, not to exceed fortyfive (45) days.

EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH HEREIN, DESIGNER DOORS, INC. MAKES NO WARRANTIES, REPRESENTATIONS OR COVENANTS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO ITS E-FRAME OVERHEAD GARAGE DOORS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DESIGNER DOORS, INC. EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, REPRESENTATIONS OR COVENANTS WITH RESPECT TO ITS E-FRAME GARAGE DOORS, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTIES, REPRESENTATIONS OR COVENANTS AS TO WORKMANSHIP, DESIGN, CAPACITY, QUALITY, CONDITION, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
