At Designer Doors, we believe that a superior finish is essential if wood garage doors are to maintain their value and look beautiful for many years to come.

That’s why we offer complete finishing services, from primer only to a complete multi-coat finish.

For stained wood doors, we strongly recommend Sikkens Cetol® 1 and Cetol 2-3 . This is a premium translucent alkyd with a “breathable” resin that allows moisture to escape. Available in 8 colors, and 2 clear finishes.

For painted wood doors, we use a high solids acrylic or oil-based primer followed by two coats of high quality exterior latex paint.

For clients who wish to do the finishing on the job site, we provide unfinished wood doors or with just the first coat applied.
