At Designer Doors, we believe that a superior finish is essential if shutters are to maintain their value and look beautiful for many years to come.

That’s why we offer complete finishing services, from primer only to a complete multi-coat finish.

For stained shutters, we strongly recommend Sikkens Cetol® 1-2-3. This is a premium translucent alkyd with iron oxide pigments and ultraviolet absorbers, and offers excellent protection from moisture and ultraviolet rays. Available in 8 colors, and 2 clear finishes.

For painted shutters, we use a high solids acrylic primer followed by two coats of high quality exterior latex paint.

For clients who wish to do the finishing on the job site, we provide shutters unfinished or with just the first coat applied.
